How a Fruit Salad Can Teach People To Look Beyond Physical Differences

by amcdocumentary on May 12, 2010

Just a quick update for tonight. I just posted the first video excerpt from one of my interviews. I counted more than 70 interviews (!!!) and 100 hours of footage. This clip features Chris Hartwick who is a favorite presenter at our AMC conventions as well as graphic designer/cook/painter/black belt and has limited use of his arms. Chris has shown me the only limitations we face are those we create for ourselves. Spending time with Chris made me realize as a parent of an AMCer that Owen will be okay. He will adapt and show me that he has his own way of doing things. I can’t say enough good things about Chris. He has helped so many people at conventions just by talking and showing how he does his daily rountine.

I will post more information from the Chris interviews as well as start introducing some of our amazing AMCers around the world.  I have learned so much over the past 2 years (yes 2 years by the time I am finished) and made so many good friends and new family members. Thank you all for sharing your stories.

The greatest thing all 3 boys ever told me? Mom, we want to do it just like Chris. I am proud that I will be raising boys that recognize the person and their abilities, not the difference. Let me know what you think? What kinds of videos clips would you like to see next?
